STANWOOD- City Continues to Take Precautions for Novel Coronavirus 2019

The City of Stanwood continues to closely monitor updates regarding Novel Coronavirus 2019. Those interested in community updates should monitor the city website by accessing www.stanwoodwa.org and city social media sites for updates on how our community is affected, local business updates, community resources and links to Snohomish County, State of Washington and other Agencies.

The City of Stanwood cares about the safety of our employees, residents, and businesses and continues to abide by the COVID-19 requirements for social distancing as per the Department of Health. On March 23, 2020 Governor Inslee enacted the Stay At Home Order for all of Washington. The City is enacting additional level of service changes. See previous press releases for level of service changes made prior to this press release:

Parks. All City of Stanwood Park playground areas, restroom facilities and other areas that are typically used as gathering spots will be closed. Park patrons may still use the parks and trails but are to comply with the Governor Order.

City Administrative Office will continue to remain closed to the public; however, city business will continue as local government functions are essential businesses to remain open.

The community is reminded that, based on available evidence, viruses are transmitted between people through close contact and droplets. Be diligent in:

  • Washing hands thoroughly (20+ seconds)
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Sneeze in your sleeve; Cough in your cuff
  • Wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms
  • Maintain social distance (6’) from individuals
  • Limit activities where crowds are present
